Tomorrow (Monday): All students are encouraged to wear Hawaiian attire (while still following dress code) TO SCHOOL and THE GAME to show support for the 7th and 8th Grade Girls Basketball Team as they take on the Freeland Falcons!

🌙✨ Learning is SWEET in 8th Grade Science! ✨🌙
8th graders modeled the phases of the Moon using none other than… OREOS! 🍪🌕 Students carefully “carved” out each phase, from New Moon to Full Moon, and everything in between. This hands-on (and delicious!) activity helped them see the cyclic patterns of lunar phases in action.
Way to go, future astronomers—your learning is out of this world! 🚀🌌
7th grade HOOPS ! - SV - that's our town :) The lady vikings traveled to Ithaca and won, 33-7! Fantastic plays by Gabby Katz - 10 points & 5 boards. Also, Harper Quellet had 6 point and 6 boards ! They are back in action on Monday to play the rival - Freeland at home. See you there !
8th Grade HOOPS - The 8th grade girls basketball team beat Ithaca 50-43. The game was a great test for our lady vikes. Top performers were Maeva Sobol and Addy Ball. Way to finish ladies!
🌍✨ Why do we have seasons? ✨🌎
Mrs. Blaesser’s 8th-grade scientists explored this question by modeling the tilt of Earth’s axis and discovering how it affects the amount of sunlight different parts of our planet receive throughout the year. ☀️🌎❄️🌸 Students rotated Earth models around a “sun” and saw firsthand how the 23.5° tilt creates changing seasons. From summer’s direct rays to winter’s slanted sunlight, they brought science to life through hands-on learning and collaboration! We are so proud of their curiosity and STEM-azing effort! 🌟

8th grade HOOPS - The 8th grade girl's Basketball Team beat Alma 54-23 ! Once again, the girls were locked in and played tough. Top hustlers were Maeva Sobol and Ryelle Thompson :)
7th grade HOOPS- 48-11 win !! Valicia Ramirez and Milly Garcia set the tone defensively while Gabby Katz and Kennedy Felsing finished with 10 points a piece to pace the offense :)

This Thursday marks our very first After-School Activity Day! These fun events will be held once a month, giving students a great chance to hang out, have fun, and support our school community.

📍 Where the Money Goes: All proceeds will support various school clubs. This month, funds will specifically benefit our Counseling Department to support students.

First home Girls Basketball game tonight against Alma. Let's fill the bleachers !!!
The 8th grade girls basketball team beat Muth 60-13. The TEAM played aggressively on defense, saw the floor extremely well, and were in synch all game. Great game all around!
SV 7th grade defeated the Eagles from Frankenmuth by a score of 46-14. Kennedy Felsing led the way with leadership, 11 points, and 8 rebounds. Ava "WOW-" Howe chipped in 8 points while Taelor Spearman had 6 and some feisty defense! Everyone come to the 7th and 8th grades first home game against the Alma Panthers for absolutely free this coming Monday, September15th. For the first home game- there will be an entertaining halftime show contest where you could win some great prizes! 7th grade plays at 430 with the 8th grade following at 530! Come support for FREE!
Shout-out to our Cross Country team! The SVMS boys came in 1st and the girls 3rd. They are putting in the work & it shows :)
🌙✨ Our 8th-grade scientists in Mrs. Blaesser’s class have been busy identifying and modeling the phases of the Moon! From waxing crescents to waning gibbous, students practiced recognizing each phase and explaining how the positions of the Earth, Moon, and Sun create the patterns we see in the night sky. 🌍🌖☀️
