8th Grade Hoops !!!
On Monday,
Both SV 8 Teams came out on top against Freeland. The B team was led by Easton Vasey and Carson Boehler who were channeling their inner Lamelo Ball.

The A team made things more difficult than they needed to, but eventually pulled away by Alex Pikes 20 and 15 night. Also Lucas Powell chipped in a huge 3 and Lucas Kench went full Whirlpool- with a nasty spin cycle move.

VIKING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (WEEK OF DECEMBER 8TH)...

Swan Valley Athletics is honoring five Viking Athletes of the Week from the week of December 8th. Congratulations to 7th grade volleyball player Valicia Ramirez and 8th grade volleyball players Maci Wilson , Harper Wagner, Maggie Kennelly, and Cam Kornecky for earning this prestigious award!

Here is what their coaches had to say about them fulfilling one or more of the Viking Athletic Core Values:

"Viking Athlete of the Week goes to Valicia Ramirez! Valicia is recognized for her heart and hustle on the court and her strong competitive spirit. She brings intensity to every match and never lets a ball drop without giving her best effort to dig it. Her volleyball knowledge continues to grow, and her athleticism truly sets her apart. Valicia is steady, dependable, and always gives 100% in everything she does. No one has more heart and hustle than Valicia...she never backs down from a challenge."

"Maci has earned the Libero position this year and has been instrumental in conducting the defense from the back row. Her passing and leadership have been instrumental in the team's success this season!"

"Harper is a standout volleyball player who has developed positive leadership skills throughout the season. Her commitment to the game is unmatched and she has been great all around as she leads the team in digs and kills this season!"

"Maggie has showed selflessness all season and desire to get better in every facet of her game. In the tournament this past weekend, Maggie had 52 kills and 28 serving points- she propelled her team to the championship victory against many of the larger schools in the area!"

"Cam's season has not been easy at times, however, she has always maintained a positive attitude and a team first mentality. This past weekend, everything clicked for Cam- in the final set of the Championship, the SV VB team found themselves down 14-8 in a game to 15. Cam served 6 pressure-packed serves with ease and with help from her teammates, they won 15-14. Cam truly has ice in her veins!"

Viking Pride!
