Wednesday Hoops !
8th grade girls lost a very physical game to Bridgeport 30-35
Gabby Miller led the team with 8 points and 5 assists
Gabby Price had 7 pts
Poppy Weyand with 5
Olivea Hernandez with 4 pts and tough defense
Cadence Raymond had 4 pts
Issy Smith with 2
The 7th grade girls beat Bridgeport 54-8. The girls went on a 22 pt run to start the game. Addison Ball was high scorer with 15 pts and let in rebounds with 8. The girls did an excellent job seeing the floor which contributed to 13 assists.

The Vikings showed up and showed out at the Freeland TVC Cross Country Meet on Tuesday night. The teams each had a strong team showing, while there were numerous personal records and seasonal record set. It was a beautiful evening for running and the Vikings took full advantage. Sergio Medina, Josh Gonzales, Alexis Unger, Amelia Espinoza, Alessandra Oldham, Cooper Light, Piper Sova, Brooklyn Rethman, Rylie Nachtweih, Evalynn Cole, Ava Howe, Vivienne Ardouin, Maximilian Rapin, Isabelle Stiener, Jack Conley, Isaac Ball, Urijah Hernandez, Lennon Klepsch, Seth Blankenship, Nick Bauer, Ryelle Thompson, Kenley Townsend, Zoe Baird, and Leah Hebl all set personal records last night. Great job Viking runners and don't hesitate to ask how you can become part of this elite group of athletes next season. We caught up with Ryelle Thompson after the race and she had this to say, "I've played a lot of different sports, but without a doubt, there is nothing more satisfying than crossing that finish line knowing that you've done better than you've ever done before." Very well said Ryelle and good luck as the Vikings only have two remaining meets.
Mrs Decker's middle school Art Class is creating more awesome art this week! From beautifully elaborate skulls to candy treat bags, these students do great work!

The girls are home Wednesday hosting Bridgeport.
The 7th grade girls lost to Freeland 42-24. Maeva Sobol was leading scorer with 6pts and Addison Ball added 5 rebounds. The girls had excellent transition defense this game and played with a lot more competitive spirit.
Tomorrow is Olympian Day! Dress in your favorite sports attire. Support the Tigers in their playoff run!

What a night for the Swan Valley Cross Country teams! 💪 Our boys and girls competed against some top schools at Taymouth Township Park in Birch Run on Thursday and represented SVMS so well.
Shoutouts to Leo Garza, Ryelle Thompson, Zoe Baird, Jacob Vasquez, Ethan Blome, Landen Roenicke, Josh Gonzales, Nalini Nguyen, and Urijah Hernandez for setting new season or career records! 🏃♀️🏃♂️ The weather was perfect for running and our athletes really brought their A-game.
Next up, we head to Freeland for a TVC meet on Tuesday. Let's keep this momentum going, Vikings!

The 7th grade girls basketball team beat Garber 44-6. Addison Ball led the team in pts and rebounds with 13 and 9. The Viking defense had 13 steals and 3 blocked shots. Offensively, the ladies did an excellent job passing the ball contributing to 12 assists.

This week at Beyond the Bell, students engaged in some physical activity, including 4 Square and putting practice, played Mario Kart, created paper rockets, and more! Additionally, they enjoyed some tasty after-school snacks each day!
If this sounds like a fun time for your student, Beyond the Bell runs Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30. The cost is $40.00 per month paid at the main office on the 1st of each month or $20.00 per month if qualified for free/reduced lunch. You can sign up your student using the link below.
