VIKING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 15th)...
Swan Valley Athletics is honoring another 2 Viking Athletes of the Week from the week of September 15th. Congratulations to Poppy Weyand (JV Volleyball) and MaryGrace Luplow (Varsity Girls XC) for earning this prestigious award!
Here is what their coaches had to say about them fulfilling one or more of the Viking Athletic Core Values:
"Poppy comes to practice eager to learn. She is very coachable and a very hard worker. Poppy always comes to practice with a positive attitude and is willing to play any position. We are very excited to see her grow as a player on the volleyball court."
"MG consistently demonstrates what it means to be a dedicated and hardworking athlete. She is always on time, never misses practice, and gives her best effort every single day. MG goes above and beyond in workouts, setting the tone for her teammates with her determination and positive attitude. Her improvement this season has been outstanding, and she continues to push herself to reach new goals. Most importantly, MG is an awesome role model for younger athletes, showing them exactly what hard work, commitment, and team spirit look like."

The hilly course and blazing sun made the girls’ race especially tough, but they battled through with grit and determination.
By the time the boys hit the line, an incoming storm had cooled things down. Even while missing some key contributors, the boys crushed their projected finishes and secured the 2nd place hardware for the Vikings!
Medalists:
Aubrey Hare- 18th place
MG Luplow- 28th place
Anicela Ortega- 30th place
Murphy Wagner- 3rd place
Spencer Dammann- 6th place
Logan Selasky- 11th place
Gannon Sova- 13th place
Nolan Selasky- 23rd place
Alex Schram- 25th place
Proud of our team’s effort and resilience on a challenging day. Go Vikings!

Last week, Varsity Football set the tone by beating Freeland. Yesterday, Varsity Boys Soccer followed up with a big 3-2 win on the road vs the Falcons. The fan support and student section helped keep the energy high the entire game. This win puts their record at 7-2-1 on the season and the team is currently ranked 7th in the state.
MVP of the match is Ryder Stipanovich who had all 3 goals.
The soccer team’s next match is home on Wednesday, 9/17 vs Alma @ 4:30. Come on out and show some support. Following the soccer game our girls varsity volleyball team is taking on Freeland at home at 6:30. Good luck to both teams.
