The freshman volleyball team had a great day at the 2nd annual B#4 volleyball tournament in Ithaca! We got to hear the story of Brady Hessbrook, the impact he made on the community, and what the B#4 foundation is all about. We ended the day as runner up, but showed lots of grit and dedication. Very proud of these girls! Go Vikings! 💜
Swan Valley Varsity Football wins their 5th game of the season tonight with a victory over the Bridgeport Bearcats 62-0!

On Monday the viking soccer team traveled to John Glenn for their last conference match of the season. After being down 1-0 at half, the team turned it on and scored 4 goals to win the game. Landen Whelton scored the first goal and Ryder Stipanovich the next 3 goals. With the win, the team finished a strong 2nd place in the conference.
Tonight the team had a dominating win vs Nouvel beating the panthers 7-0. This win puts the team record at 10-5-2 for the season with one remaining game left. Below are the goal scorers of the game.

On October 25, Freeland High School is hosting a Mobile Hiring Combine in partnership with the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights. This event is similar to the NFL Combine but instead of sports it is focused on careers. High school seniors and adults from the community will have the chance to demonstrate their skills in front of contractors who are ready to hire. Participants will go through a series of hands-on challenges while potential employers watch, and many will walk away with immediate job offers. There is a strong need for workers, especially with solar farm projects in Essexville, Saginaw, Bad Axe, Gladwin, and Yale, along with other types of construction and millwright work across Michigan. This is a tremendous opportunity not only for our students but also for the greater community as excellent pay, pension, and benefits are available.

Terrific Run at Taymouth Township Park!
The Viking Cross Country team ran very well Tuesday in Birch Run. Every race was packed with effort and determination, and it’s clear this team is building momentum each week.
Congratulations to MG Luplow, Alaina McNaughton, and Alexis Venema for achieving a PR, and Aubrey Hare for running her best race of the season and medaling with a 22nd place finish!
Also PR'ing on the boys side were Josh Gonzales, Connor Kaul, and Nikolas Rodriguez.
5 boys took home medals on Tuesday! Murphy Wagner (6th), Spencer Dammann (26th), Owen Hare (JV 9th), Trenton Terrian (JV 19th), Braxton Darland (JV 20th).

Ryder is that student athlete that any coach would love to have. He leads by example and that's giving 110% all the time. For his senior year that effort is paying off and he leads our team in goals with 21 on the season so far. Ryder is humble and knows his success comes from the team. He cares deeply for his teammates. Ryder keep the work going and finish out your senior season strong."

Swan Valley Cross Country battled a hot fall day this Saturday at the Shepherd Blue Jay Invitational with over 100 other schools. Swan Valley girls took 13th in their division, and the boys took 10th. Medalists for the Vikings were Aubrey Hare (37th), Murphy Wagner (19th), Spencer Dammann (35th), and Jaden Rodriguez (38th). Vincent Morse also took home a medal for placing 48th in the JV meet! Congrats to Emma Coven, MG Luplow, and Connor Kaul for setting new PRs on such a hot day!
