Swan Valley High School Students, Staff, and Families,
Swan Valley Athletic Trainer Nate Zastrow is moving onto another position in mid-Michigan. We will send Nate off in true Viking fashion this coming Friday, August 16th from 7-8 p.m. at the stadium concourse after the Purple White Game. This will be an opportunity for Swan Valley's coaches, athletes, and families to wish him farewell and the best of luck as he moves on to his next position. Hope to see you there!
Swan Valley School District is excited to offer free breakfast and lunch to ALL students in the 2024-2025 school year thanks to the Michigan Healthy School Meals Program! Even though meals will be provided for free, it is IMPORTANT for families to continue sharing household income information in order for our school to receive full access to federal and state funding for educational programs that our students are entitled to. ASCENSION MEDICAL GROUP SPORTS PHYSICAL CLINIC
Ascension Medical Group will hold its last summer sports physical clinic for high school students only on Thursday, August 1st from 4-7 p.m. Middle school athletes are to see their primary care provider. Please see the attached flier for more information. Prior to the clinic, the 2 page MHSAA Sports Physical Form will need to be printed off or obtained from the Swan Valley Athletic Office. A parent / guardian must complete the form in its entirety. The form can be accessed at the following link: https://5il.co/2r977.
MEET THE COACHES NIGHT - MONDAY, AUGUST 5, 6-7 PM
(SWAN VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL)
On Monday, August 5th from 6-7 p.m. in the old auditorium of Swan Valley High School, the Swan Valley Athletic Department will host a “Meet the Coaches Night” for all middle school and high school athletes and their parents / guardians. This will be an opportunity to meet some of the coaches on staff, ask questions, and hear from the Swan Valley Athletic Association on how to become a member and get more involved to support Swan Valley Athletics. There will also be information on Swan Valley’s All Sports Passes, points of emphasis from the athletic handbooks, and changes for the upcoming school year. If you are new to middle school or high school sponsored sports or have any questions, you are encouraged to attend.
There will be girls weight and agility training Tuesday, July 30 from 9:30 to 10:45
Agility/Weight training for our female athletes is cancelled for July 25th.

Several female athletes joined our summer workout program yesterday. They put in work! These workouts are designed to strengthen their muscles, build endurance, and help prevent injury.
Our workout program is open to all female athletes going into 7th-12th grade on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-11:30. No registration required! Meet by the weight room at the high school. No workout the first week of July.

SYDNEY KUHN AT NEW BALANCE NATIONALS
Sydney Kuhn traveled to Philadelphia to the New Balance Outdoor Nationals with her family and coach Andrew Wendler to compete in the 400m and 800m “dashes”. On Saturday the 15th, she set a new personal best and finally broke the 55 sec. barrier with a 54.97 (54.966) earning her 10th out of 64 runners competing in the championship final. On Sunday, she competed in the 800m and clocked her second best time of 2:09.36 this season earning her 21st out of 92 runners.
Congratulations to Sydney for an amazing season. Her dedication, time spent, and hard work truly paid off.
SWAN VALLEY ATHLETICS SPRING SPORTS SUMMARY…
Please check out the linked Viking Spotlight for the spring sports individual and team award winners in the classroom and on the playing venue. Amongst all of the high school spring sports teams, Swan Valley High School had 64 student-athletes with a Trimester Three GPA of 3.75 or higher! Congrats goes out to the JV Boys Golf Team for earning the Team Academic Award with a 3.77 team average GPA. Way to go coaches and athletes!
