Swan Valley Athletics is honoring 3 more fall student-athletes with Viking Athlete of the Week. Congrats to Michael Gerard (Varsity Football), Allison Allore (Freshman Volleyball), and Maddelyn Zissler (Varsity Poms)! Here is what their coaches had to say about them in fulfilling one or more of the Viking Athletic Core Values:
"Investment- Mikey is all for our football program and his work ethic in the offseason is tremendous and he brings a positive attitude to practice each day."
"Allison is communicative, strong, celebrates success and encourages others during tough times. Playing against Freeland, she led the volleyball team with 11 consecutive serves for the 2nd game, with a total of 18 serves throughout the whole match. Not only are her serves an asset to the team, she is also a powerful hitter and is excelling in the back row with her passes. She has done everything asked by her coaches, including setting the second ball to a hitter if it comes her way. We are so proud of how far she has grown, keep up the hard work Allison! "

Our JV volleyball team hosted their tournament today and had some really tough competition! It was great to see all the athletes in the gym giving it their all. The lady Vikes were 3-1 on the day defeating Chesaning, Shepherd, and St. Charles before falling to Mt. pleasant Sacred Heart in an intense 3 game battle. Sacred Heart went on to play St. Johns in the championship. St Johns took home the Gold victory.

The boys and girls varsity cross-country team traveled to MSU for the MSU invite. Our runners did a fantastic job considering the temperature, the billion other athletes there were at this meet, along with the level of competition. Tonight's volleyball games ended in a clean sweep! Freshman, JV, and Varsity all dominated the court and came away with a win against Alma to start off conference play!
