HELP GIVE BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY By: Sophia Burns I never thought I’d feel so fulfilled as I did on Saturday. I couldn't feel my fingers or my toes because of how cold it was, but my heart was still warm. My family, along with others from our area, packed boxes and distributed food to people in need. We packed the boxes with food such as meats, fruits, vegetables, drinks, and more. It was one of the coolest and most fulfilling service projects I think I have ever done. If you want to get the same feeling as I did, here are some ways to give back to our community. If you would also like to give back to our community, please reach out to these local non-profit organizations listed below. 8th Grade HOOPS - What a week for basketball! The B team kicked things off with an impressive win against the Falcons on Monday, taking the game 36-29. Shoutout to Quintin O'Neal for leading the charge with 14 points, and a big thanks to Justin Riley for adding 6. Skyler Ortiz, Matt Acha, Don McCoy, Jared Seamon, and Cassen Lagalo also made solid contributions on the scoreboard. And let's not forget Jack Conley, our defensive star, who dominated the boards for the Vikings! In a nail-biter, the A team fought hard but fell just short against the Falcons, ending with a score of 43-41. Griffin Beougher led the effort with 12 points, while Willie Powell chipped in 9. Sawyer Murphy and Matt Moeller each scored 8 to keep the game close. Wednesday night brought more action! The B team was unstoppable, crushing Bay City John 38-7. Colten Ray was on fire with 10 points, followed by Ryder Root with 8, and Quintin O'Neal with 7. Don McCoy, Skyler Ortiz, and Hudson Maxa also joined the scoring frenzy! The A team faced a tough challenge against the Bobcats from John Glenn and ended the game at 59-52. Willie Powell shone with 20 points, and Sawyer Murphy added 14. Matt Moeller contributed 9, while Griffin Beougher, Mason Wilson, and Mo Villegas also put points on the board. Great job, everyone! Looking forward to next week, even though it's a light schedule with just one game against the Dukes of Garber. Let's keep the momentum going! 💪🏀 --

7th Grade HOOPS - It was a grueling week of games for the 7th grade Boys Basketball team as they played basketball powerhouses Freeland and Bay City John Glenn. The B team got off to a great start knocking off an undefeated Freeland B team 38-28. The team was paced by Carson Boehler's ferocious defense all night as he ended with 7 steals and 7 points. Gavin Erickson also chipped in 6 points while Austin Alcock contributed 5 points respectively. Yesterday, the B team traveled to John Glenn and came out flat against a very good Bobcat B team and lost 20-55. The Vikings got great effort from Eli VanNortwick who had 4 points and great hustle off the bench. The A team played the Falcons on Monday and lost a nail biter 33-28. The Vikings were led by Alex Pike who had 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Xander Walle was excellent on the glass and chipped in 6 points. The Vikings then traveled to Bay City to take on the Bobcats. The Vikings played with great heart from the tip-off, but ultimately fell short 27-45 to a very talented John Glenn team. Alex Pike set the tone with 23 points and 6 boards, while Cooper Gavenda made great decisions all night at point against a ferocious Bobcat defense. The A team will be back in action at Garber next Monday.
