Last Friday, May 8th we celebrated an incredible Mock Interview Day at Swan Valley Middle School! 🎉
Around 140 students participated across 17 different career fields, gaining real-world interview experience and valuable career insight from professionals in our community. This event would not have been possible without the amazing support of our interviewers who volunteered their time, knowledge, and encouragement to help prepare our students for the future. Today, Swan Valley Middle School Chief Science Officers, and their advisor, Mrs.Blaesser traveled to Michigan State University for the Michigan Student Sustainability Summit! 🌎🌱
Students participated in breakout sessions, hands-on exhibits, and explored topics such as food waste, native plants, environmental careers, conservation, and sustainability solutions. The day ended with a walking tour of MSU’s campus where students learned about native plants, trees, stormwater systems, and nature-based solutions.

The Swan Valley boys track team battled through cold temperatures, strong winds, and a very long night yesterday at the Huskie Invitational in Breckenridge. Competing against 16 teams loaded with some exceptional athletes and runners, the Vikings fought through the tough conditions to earn an impressive 2nd place overall team finish. The boys showed toughness, competitiveness, and determination all day long while bringing home a huge number of medals and PRs!

Jonathan has shown incredible growth and leadership this year. This year, he led the entire 7th grade in NWEA science growth, remarkably growing more than 10x his goal. He achieved "high growth" across every NWEA subject area, with scoring in the 99th percentile for growth in both science and language. While these accomplishments are impressive, his steady persistence, focus, and quiet determination in the classroom truly set him apart.

Ariya consistently demonstrates maturity, leadership, and pride in her work. She leads by example and pays close attention to detail, always striving to do her best. She is supportive and encouraging to her classmates and is always willing to lend a helping hand. 🔥 Huge day in the pole vault with 6 vaulters clearing 6 feet, led by Wesley Kemerer clearing 7’6”!
