VIKING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (WEEK OF OCTOBER 20TH)...
Swan Valley Athletics is honoring 5 Viking Athletes of the Week from the week of October 20th. Congratulations to Griffin Beougher (Freshman Football), Dawson Gebauer (Freshman Football), Sydney Beemer (Varsity Sideline Cheer), Aubrey Hare (Varsity Girls Cross Country), and Spencer Dammann (Varsity Boys Cross Country) for earning this prestigious award!
Here is what their nominators had to say about them fulfilling one or more of the Viking Athletic Core Values:
"Griffin worked all summer long both on the field and in the weight room. That didn't change once the season started. He learned multiple positions and not once complained about it. He became a true student of the game and held others around him to his standards. I can't wait to see what Griff does with another year under his belt!"
"Dawson is easily one of the hardest workers I've had the privilege of coaching. He learned multiple positions. Not once did he complain. All he said was "whatever you need coach". He went to the weight room every day after practice. He found a way to get stronger DURING the season which is a difficult thing to do. With the way he works, the sky is the limit for Dawson! He's the definition of "leads by example"."
"Sydney Beemer has become a shining example of what it means to balance academics, athletics, and character. Whether in the classroom, on the field, or in the community, Sydney demonstrates hard work, leadership, and a positive attitude that inspires everyone around her. Sydney is known for giving 100% effort at every practice and game. With a bright future ahead, Sydney continues to make SV proud by representing the true spirit of a student-athlete—driven, humble, and always ready to help others succeed."
"I would like to nominate Aubrey Hare for Viking Athlete of the Week. Aubrey has been one of the hardest workers on our team all season, showing up every day ready to push herself. Even when she hit a frustrating plateau in her times, she stayed positive, kept working, and never let it affect her attitude. That perseverance paid off in a huge way when she dropped significant time at both the Saginaw County meet and Regionals, ultimately earning a spot at the State Championship. Aubrey is a perfect example of resilience, consistency, and what it means to be a Swan Valley Viking."
"I would like to nominate Spencer Dammann for Viking Athlete of the Week. Spencer showed an incredible amount of improvement this season, and it was no accident, it was the direct result of the effort he brought to practice every single day. He stayed focused, worked hard, and kept pushing himself even when things were challenging. Spencer has grown into not just a strong runner, but also a great teammate and an even better person. With his work ethic and attitude, he is poised to be a fantastic leader for our team next year."
Viking Pride!

Día de los muertos or the Day of the Dead
This mystical Hispanic celebration comes to life through the ofrendas and dioramas created by Ms. Jessica Fehrman's Spanish IIA class.
Inspired by their visit to the Detroit Institute of Arts in Detroit, Michigan, each display beautifully reflects the exchange of culture, art, and history.
We invite you to join us in celebrating this vibrant tradition!

Swan Valley Athletics is honoring 2 Viking Athletes of the Week from the week of October 13th. Congratulations to Hudson Maxa (Freshman Football) and Maddie Turner (Varsity Volleyball) for earning this prestigious award!
Here is what their nominators had to say about them fulfilling one or more of the Viking Athletic Core Values:
"Hudson leads by example. He shows up every day ready to put the work in to get better. He puts extra work in the weight room after practice nearly every day. He's never one I have to question because I know he's giving it his all. Future is bright for this young man!"
"Our senior setter, Maddie, has worked extremely hard to secure her position this season. She has grown in her skill level as well as her volleyball IQ. She does well on and off the court. She is always asking how to get better and makes adjustments."
Viking Pride!
