Viking Athletes of the Week (Week of April 21st)...
Swan Valley Athletics is honoring 5 Viking Athletes of the Week for the week of April 21st! Congratulations to the following 5 track athletes for earning this prestigious award and rocking it at the Barnyard Invite in Romeo this past Friday night: Boston Streng-Beougher, Sydney Kuhn, Mackenzie Powell, Aubrey Hare, and Grace Spear.
Boston set the 2007 school record in the 400M with a time of 49.13!
The ladies broke the 4x400M Relay Team record by 2 seconds with a time of 4.03.16!

Top 6 in each individual event and top 3 relays earned medalist honors at this meet.

The JV Lady Vikes Softball Team hosted Heritage tonight. Swan Valley won the first game 11-2 and outscored the Hawks in the nightcap 15-5!

A great showing Friday from the Girls Varsity Track and Field Team at the Barnyard Invitational, despite multiple weather delays and sub-optimal conditions. Athletes placing top 3 in their events include: Sydney Kuhn: 1st place 100m, 1st place 200m (PR, school record), 1st place 400m (PR, school record, #1 time in Michigan this year) *All state final EQ marks; Aubrey Hare: 1st place 100m hurdles, 1st place 300m hurdles; 4x100m relay 2nd place (Spear, Hartley, Hare, Powell); 4x200m relay 3rd place (Spear, Mendoza, Newman, Powell); 4x400m relay 2nd place, school record, State Finals EQ mark!! (Spear, Powell, Hare, Kuhn)

The Boys and Girls Varsity Track and Field teams took on Bridgeport for a dual meet last night, soaking in the sun for a great day of racing before they travel again to the Barnyard Invitational today. Both the Boy and Girls teams took 1st place!

Looking for something fun to do this Friday night? Please join us when Swan Valley Varsity Baseball will take on Caro in a doubleheader at Dow Diamond in Midland at 4:30 p.m. All fans and spectators are to enter the stadium from the southeast end behind right field. Tickets are $5 (cash only) for Kindergarten - Adult. Students in 6th-12th grade get in for free with presentation of student ID. Swan Valley Little League Players also get in for free by wearing their jerseys to the game. Concessions will be available (credit only) and 50/50 tickets will be sold before and during the first game. The winning 50/50 ticket will be announced shortly after the start of the 2nd game. Proceeds will go to Swan Valley Baseball.

The Swan Valley Varsity and JV Softball Teams played at home tonight. The Varsity swept Heritage 2 games to 0. They won the first game 6-4 and the 2nd outing 9-5! The JV Lady Vikes followed suit with a big 15-5 win over Pinconning in the first meeting and tied the 2nd game with the Spartans 7-7.

JV Baseball won both games vs Pinconning tonight, improving their overall record to 10-3. Bedford (4 IP, 3K) and Smith (2 IP) pitched in the first game. Carter caught. Stoney (1 IP, 1K), Toner (2 IP, 5K) and Irvine (2 IP, 2K) combined for the win in the nightcap. Ray/Leachman caught the second game.
Offensive leaders were Leachman with 4 RBIs, Darabos and Rush with 3 RBIs, Ray with 2 RBIs, and Toner and Young with 1 RBI each.
JV plays against Bay City Western tomorrow night at Home!

Boys Volleyball had another successful night in their home match. They defeated Midland High 25-10, 25-23 and Swartz Creek 25-3, 25-15. The Vikings take the court again next Wednesday at Swartz Creek.
