Viking Athletes of the Week (Week of May 19th)
Swan Valley Athletics is honoring 3 Viking Athletes of the Week for the week of May 19th! Congratulations to the following 3 spring athletes for earning this prestigious award: Liam Kittle (Boys Volleyball), Jonathan Stephens (Boys Volleyball), and Izzy Coffel (Varsity Softball).
Here is what their nominators had to say about them fulfilling one or more of the Viking Athletic Core Values:
"Liam is a true example of resilience, adaptability, and team spirit. After some early hardships, he took a leap of faith and tried boys volleyball for the first time—and never looked back. Over the course of the season, he improved tremendously, quickly becoming a reliable player who could step into any position when the team needed him most. His powerful blocks at the net became a game-changer, helping shift momentum in critical moments. His journey this season is a testament to determination and the impact of stepping outside your comfort zone."
"Jonathan is being recognized for his heart, effort, and passion. From day one, he showed up ready to work, eager to learn, and always gave 100%, even when things didn’t come easily. He never gave up and consistently showed a genuine love for the game. His willingness to push himself and support his teammates never went unnoticed. Jonathan was always the loudest player on both sides of the net, on and off the court."
"Izzy continues to shine offensively, leading the team with an outstanding .520 batting average. She has driven in 49 RBIs and hit 7 home runs so far this season, making her a consistent and powerful presence at the plate. Izzy has been an invaluable asset to our team this year. Her versatility and team-first mentality allow her to play wherever she’s needed to support our overall success. Whether she’s leading from behind the plate, commanding the field, or delivering in the batter’s box, Izzy is a true leader and a force to be reckoned with. Way to go, Izzy!"

Viking Athletes of the Week (Week of May 12th)
Swan Valley Athletics is honoring 7 Viking Athletes of the Week for the week of May 12th! Congratulations to the following 7 spring athletes for earning this prestigious award: Brayden Obendorfer (Boys Volleyball), Madison Gracias (Varsity Girls Soccer), Hailey Koch (Varsity Softball), Alivia Guilbeaux (Varsity Softball), Stoney Fisher (JV Baseball), Quinn Darabos (JV Baseball), and Alex Galsterer (Varsity Boys Golf).
Here is what their nominators had to say about them fulfilling one or more of the Viking Athletic Core Values:
"Brayden Obendorfer delivered a standout performance this week, anchoring the Swan Valley defense with his dominant blocking at the net. His presence consistently disrupted opponents' attacks and shifted momentum in key moments. In addition to his defensive impact, Brayden also contributed crucial points with strong, consistent serving that kept pressure on the opposition throughout each match. His leadership and hustle made a clear difference in the team’s success."
"Phenomenal Finish Caps an Extraordinary Career Madison Gracias closed out her high-school regular season with a monster week—seven goals and three assists in just three games. She never once asked about her stats; instead, she focused on whatever the team needed. When asked where she wanted to play, her answer was always the same: “Wherever you think the team needs me.” That selfless attitude has rubbed off on the younger players, who respect her as a peer and a competitor. Now, in her third year as captain, Madison has truly discovered what leadership means: combining talent with kindness, empathy, and unwavering support for her teammates. She leaves Swan Valley holding the school’s career-scoring records and a list of state and local honors that are too long to list. As she prepares to graduate and continue her soccer journey at Delta College, Madison’s legacy will live on in the program for years to come. Congratulations, Madison—it was an honor being your coach. Go Ducks!"
"Hailey Jo is the epitome of a team player. She’s ready to play wherever you need her. This past weekend she played SS, LF and 1B. She went 6-12 on the day and hit a HR against USA that jumpstarted our offense."
"Alivia went 7-11 on the day at the plate in last Saturday's Swan Valley Invite. She also made great plays at 3rd base including a hard line shot. Alivia is always a steady consistent hitter at the plate!"
"Fisher had a great outing Tuesday vs. Davison, where he hit, not one, but two home runs! Fisher has been a great batter in the lead off position. Fisher has also contributed to the pitching rotation this year, pitching many key innings this year. We are also excited to see Fisher continue to develop and hone his baseball skills."
"Quinn has been a vital part of the pitching rotation this year, and Monday at Cass City, he threw a no hitter, striking out 8 batters! Quinn has also contributed many timely hits offensively this year! We are excited to see Quinn continue to develop and hone his baseball skills."
"Alex won our Viking Invite last week with a 76."
Viking Pride!
