VIKING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (WEEK of March 2nd)...
Swan Valley Athletics is honoring its last 2 Viking Athletes of the Week for the winter season. Congratulations to Alex Schram and Javen Gomez (Varsity Wrestling) for earning this prestigious award!
Here is what Coach Brandel had to say about them fulfilling one or more of the Viking Athletic Core Values:
"Alex achieved a remarkable goal on Saturday night advancing to the State Finals. His nomination doesn’t come from that tremendous accomplishment though, its what he did after. After battling in the two day tournament, Alex spent Sunday at a youth tournament coaching our youth wrestlers, giving fully of himself to all levels even after the joy and agony of Saturday. "
"Javen Gomez is also receiving a nomination after a tremendous achievement placing 8th as a sophomore, but its what he did after his tournament was complete that gets the nomination. JJ was down on the floor of Ford Field almost sitting matside watching Alex in the finals when Alex’s headgear broke. Without headgear, Alex risked a DQ, and you only have a certain amount of time to fix it or find a new one. JJ instantly kicked off his sandals, took off and sprinted the entire length of Ford Field, and up the bleachers to get his headgear out of his bag, and sprinted all the way back. We were able to fix the headgear before JJ got back, but he gave everything he had to support his teammate in a time of need."

Your hard work, dedication, and Viking pride truly shine. We’re so proud of you!

VIKING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (WEEK of February 23rd)...
Swan Valley Athletics is honoring two Viking Athletes of the Week from last week. Congratulations to Gabby Price and Cadence Raymond (JV Girls Basketball) for earning this prestigious award!
Here is what their coach had to say about them fulfilling one or more of the Viking Athletic Core Values:
"This season, Gabby has exhibited a positive and uplifting attitude on a daily basis. Her positive attitude and energy spreads to teammates. In addition to that, Gabby has had a great year as a freshman. Her 3 point shooting was key in several games this year and a few of those games resulted in her being the top scorer. More important is her work ethic. Gabby never gets down on herself and is always looking to improve."
"Cadence has made significant improvements this year as a basketball player. She gives 100 percent effort on the floor whether in practice or in the game. If you need rebounds, you can always count on Cadence. She often outrebounds girls much taller than her and isn't afraid to be aggressive to get those rebounds. She is also an incredibly hard worker in practice which is why she has improved so much."

Go Lady Vikes!

Our Lady Vikings traveled to Jackson to compete in states for bowling today at Jax 60. Isabella Haley finished the day in 31st with the pin total of 966. She was only 85 pins away from making the cut. Ella Holnagel finished the day in 45th with a pin total of 917. Ella also bowled her highest game of the season with a 211.
We are very proud of all the hard work these two girls put in during the season to make it to states. I can wait to see what happens next year with these two working on their bowling in the off-season.
I am very proud of all my bowlers this season. We had a lot of ups and downs but we still stuck together as a team and never gave up. I also have to thank all the parents for all their help during the season.
-Coach Ahler

Swan Valley Athletics is honoring two Viking Athletes of the Week from last week. Congratulations to Greer Diefenbach (Varsity Girls Basketball) and Olivia Randall (JV Girls Basketball) for earning this prestigious award!
Here is what their coaches had to say about them fulfilling one or more of the Viking Athletic Core Values:
"Greer consistently puts in the work, giving full effort in both practices and games. Over the past year, she’s made great strides on the defensive end—maintaining her intensity while doing a better job of staying out of foul trouble. Her overall understanding of the game has continued to grow, and she’s embraced her role on the team. She plays with great energy and enthusiasm, and when she comes off the bench, she provides an immediate spark that positively impacts the entire team."
"Olivia has been asked all season to play a huge role for our team. Olivia is like another coach on the floor and has really grown as a player this year. This past week, she had two dominant performances controlling the games and was the leading scorer in both games this week. More importantly her effort, hustle, and overall commitment to this team and her teammates is unmatched."
