Drama seniors feature: Taryn Owens For this upcoming performance Taryn Owens is acting. In previous performances she has been a help on the publicity team, hair and makeup, and helping out wherever she’s needed. She is currently a senior in high school that will be graduating in one month. She will attend Delta college for 2 years then will be expanding her education at a university of her choice. She would like to give a huge shout out to her parents Tangela and Elvin Owens for supporting and raising her into the young lady she is today. Come on out and support Taryn in her last show!

Swan Valley Senior Madison Gracias signed with Delta College to further her education and play women's soccer next school year! While playing soccer at Delta College, she will study Nursing. Madison then plans to transfer to SVSU or Michigan State University to study to be a Nurse Practitioner or become a Midwife. Congratulations Madison! Viking Country is proud of you! When she isn’t at school she enjoys doing nothing. She plans on going to Delta after she graduates. Come on out and support Sarah in her last show!

Congratulations to the following 5 spring athletes for earning this prestigious award: Maciek Skraba (Boys Volleyball), Jaxon Hartley (Varsity Baseball), Lilyana Johnson (Varsity Girls Soccer), Violet Boehler (Varsity Softball), and Mia Robinson (Varsity Softball). While he may not be the loudest voice on the court, his reliability, willingness to follow direction, and consistent effort make a real impact. His fun energy and sharp sense of humor bring balance to the team, helping to keep spirits high even in tough moments. Maciek exemplifies what it means to be a supportive and selfless teammate." "This past weekend, Jaxon Hartley continued to impress. He finished the game against Escanaba on the mound striking out 17 batters. He improved his record to 4-0 on the year with 76 strikeouts in just 38 innings. Along with that, he leads the team in batting with a .482 average. He quietly has put the Varsity baseball team on his back while putting together a record of 19-5. The junior works extremely hard, on and off the field and is a great role model for the Swan Valley youth." "The Unsure, Exceptional Student Turned Extraordinary Athlete Lilyana "Lily" Johnson first reached out to her coach during the off-season, attending open gyms, uncertain about her ability to play a new sport. Despite her doubts, she showed up ready to learn the game of soccer. Initially, she played for only a few minutes during the games. But slowly, her confidence grew. Over time, Lily began competing one-on-one with some of the top players in the region. She has stood out in the last two games—showcasing confidence, aggressiveness, and determination. This presence starkly contrasts her off-field demeanor: Lily is compassionate, supportive, and always looking out for her teammates. In addition to her athletic progress, Lily is an outstanding student, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA. Her winning attitude and growth commitment have set her apart this week. Congratulations, Lily! We look forward to seeing you finish the year strong. An exceptional student-athlete Lily Johnson." "Violet went 5 for 7 on the night against Bullock Creek and hit a homerun!" "Mia contributed 2 homeruns vs. John Glenn last week to help us win 2 conference games. She also was mentally tough pitching the second game when some of her pitches weren't working as well as they normally do!" Viking Pride!

JV Baseball split with class A Davison, losing the first game 3-7 and winning the second game 5-4. Reynolds got the W in the second game, pitching a complete game, striking out 2. Leachman caught. In the first game, Stoney and Young pitched, and Ray/Carter caught. Offensive leaders were Stoney, with 4 RBI's including 2 home runs! 💣. Leachman had 2 RBI's and Smith had one. Rush stole two bases in the final inning of the second game to put himself in position to score on an errant throw. JV plays again on Thursday @ Mt Pleasant.

Girls Varsity Soccer Senior Night The senior Lady Vikings arrived at their final home game ready to put on a show one last time—and they did not disappoint. Calvary Baptist came prepared to compete and struck first with an early goal. But Swan Valley responded with determination, tying the game 1-1 before adding another to take the lead, 2-1. Calvary wasn't done yet and managed to even the score again at 2-2. In the second half, the Lady Vikings turned up the pressure. Their energy and heart were unmatched as they poured on the offense and secured a 4-2 win. It was an emotional evening for the seniors, their families, and friends. Despite the victory, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight as the final whistle blew. Congratulations, Seniors! Watching you grow and compete over the past four years has been awesome. Var golf hosted our Viking Invite today at Valley View Farms. Alex Galsterer won with a gritty 76. The team took 2nd behind Freeland by a couple of strokes. Solid play guys!

This morning, three Swan Valley students were recognized at the 29th Annual Saginaw ISD Turnaround Achievement Awards. The awards program recognizes one student from each middle school, high school and alternative school in Saginaw County who has demonstrated the most effort, perseverance, and commitment in turning their life around. Drama seniors feature: Isabelle Freeman Isabelle is making her way back to the stage. She is a senior and has acted in Swan Valley High School’s She Kills Monsters, Wednesday Night Live, and This Murder Was Staged. In this production she plays the Duchess. After high school, Isabelle plans on going to CMU to pursue elementary education. Come on out and support Izzy in her last show!

Drama seniors feature: Carmen Burnell Carmen Burnell did not plan to ever take drama. She is in publicity which is being creative and making things to promote the drama play. She is a senior in high school. She plans on attending Delta College in the fall. She wants to go for Psychology and hopefully have a career in that field. Drama seniors feature: Linda Justina Casas Linda Justina is a sweet young lady who was a star in the last show, This Murder Was Staged. This time she’s playing the March Hare! She’s excited to show off her new, fresh character! She’s graduating this year and will attend Delta College. She’s going to pursue an associate in arts and plans to go to CMU for two years to obtain a bachelor's in Art History. Shout out to the women in her life who encouraged her to do drama and break out of her shell. Come on out and support Linda Justina in her last show!

Drama seniors feature: Gracie Avila Gracie has been involved in 3 drama productions including our wonderful Alice in Wonderland. This trimester they came back to help as one of the stage managers, they also helped design quite a few props. Unfortunately, this is their senior year, but they are glad they went out with a bang. The 9th & 10th grade Track’sters ventured to Frankenmuth for their JV meet on a 80+ degree day.— top 6 earn mentalist honors in individual events, Top 3 places in relays. 100m 3rd (PR) Dempsey Looby and 1st place Torrance McMurren. 200m 5th Dempsey Looby and 1st (PR) Torrance McMurren 4x800 relay 2nd Hare, Blankenship, Booth, Rodriguez, High Jump 3rd and 3rd 300mH Ayden Teneyuque, 1600m 4th Spencer Dammann , 400m 6th Gavin Charboneau and 1st Owen Hare, 4x400 2nd Hare, Booth, Charboneau, Rodriguez. The boys team placed 2nd overall out of 14 teams —- Girls medalists include 100m 4th Jayden Hartley, 100mH 1st and 300mH 1st Aubrey Hare, High Jump 5th Haven Rohde, 200m 4th (PR) Jayden Hartley and 3rd (PR) Mackenzie Powell, 4x100 relay 2nd Newman, Hartley, Hare, Powell, Shot Put 3rd Olivia Randall, Discus 6th Kolby Stipanovich. JV Baseball improved to 16-6-1 on the season with two wins @ Cass City tonight. Braden Ray pitched a shut out in the first game, winning 3-0. Ray had 5K and gave up no walks. Leachman caught. In the nightcap, Darabos pitched an 12-0 shutout out victory, threw a NO HITTER 🔥, and collected 8K. Ray caught. Offensive leaders were Stoney with 5 hits, Bedford with 3 hits, Reynolds and Smith had 2 hits each, and Darabos, Leachman and Kowalski each had one hit. JV plays tomorrow at Home vs Davison.
