Viking Athletes of the Week (Week of April 28th)...
Swan Valley Athletics is honoring 4 Viking Athletes of the Week for the week of April 28th! Congratulations to the following 4 spring athletes for earning this prestigious award: Jason Neuenfeldt (Boys Volleyball), Braden Ray (JV Baseball), Emily Krantz (Varsity Girls Soccer), and Jaidyn Rethman (Varsity Girls Soccer).
Here is what their nominators had to say about them fulfilling one or more of the Viking Athletic Core Values:
"JJ is a dedicated member of the boys volleyball team who leads by example both on and off the court. Known for his outstanding attitude, he consistently brings positive energy to every practice and game. He is a supportive teammate, always encouraging others and putting the team first. His relentless work ethic and commitment to improvement make him a key contributor to the team's success. We're proud to recognize his efforts and sportsmanship."
"On Tuesday, Braden played with the Varsity team, catching Game 1 and pitching three innings in game 2 - striking out 5, and allowing 0 hits. On Wednesday, Braden played with the JV team, where he went 5-5 with 5 RBI’s. Friday, Braden started at catcher. He went 2 for 3 at the plate with 4 RBI’s . Saturday, JV played at the Bay City Western Invitational, where he would collect two more hits and 3 more RBI’s."
Braden has demonstrated leadership on and off the field. He is a great teammate and is willing to do what’s best for the team."
"The Future of Swan Valley Soccer: Emily Krantz (#4) & Jaidyn Rethman (#14) These two freshmen have already become the face of Vikings soccer — and it’s impossible to talk about one without mentioning the other. Both are compassionate, kind, and caring individuals whose impact goes far beyond the field. Emily is known for her exceptional speed and technical playing style. Jaidyn is calm, calculated, and always in the right position. Neither focuses on personal stats — their motivation comes from a desire to grow and help their team succeed. While both primarily play midfield, they’ve stepped into any position needed without hesitation. Their positivity and infectious personalities lift everyone around them. Off the field, they’re academic standouts with perfect or near-perfect GPAs and serve as role models for their peers. It has been inspiring to watch them grow — not just in skill but as true leaders. #4 and #14 are definitely the future of Vikings soccer. Career Highlights: Emily: 9 shots | 3 goals | 5 assists Jaidyn: 7 shots | 3 goals | 7 assists"
