Meet Maggie Rybicki, our new freshman volleyball coach and Madi Thompson, a new varsity assistant coach. They both bring knowledge and understanding to the game. Most importantly they are team players and want to help cultivate the vision for the girls volleyball program. We are very excited to have them.


1st Annual Community Service Event for our girls volleyball program. We prepared the raised beds and planted multiple beds full of veggies. This garden will serve those in need in our community.





Swan Valley Varsity Softball hosted their second invite of the season today. The Lady Vikes went 3-0 defeating some of the top teams in the state! In game one, Swan Valley beat Petoskey 13-0. In game 2, the Lady Vikes won over BC Western 12-4. In game 3, they prevailed 8-4 over USA!

Drama seniors feature: Morgan McGregor
Morgan is very excited for her final acting debut in Alice in Wonderland as the Queen of Hearts! Morgan is a senior at Swan Valley High School and plans on attending Colombia College Chicago in their performing arts program for music business. Morgan favorite drama memories are the people she’s acted with and all the friends she made along the way. She hopes you enjoy the show!

The girls track and field team took on the regional finals Friday night with lots of All-Region and State Qualifying (SQ) marks earned despite very windy conditions:
All-Region (Top 8) Finishers include: Sydney Kuhn - 200m 1st place (SQ), 400m 1st place (SQ), 300m hurdles 1st place (SQ); Grace Spear - 200m 7th place, Mackenzie Powell - 400m 6th place (PR), Mary Grace Luplow - 800m 6th place, Aubrey Hare - 100m hurdles 6th place, 300m hurdles 7th place (SQ); 4x100m relay - 6th place (Spear, Hartley, Hare, Hayes); 4x200m relay - 4th place (Hayes, Hartley, Newman, Powell).
*bad weather caused the 4x400 to be postponed until Monday to conclude the meet

Despite the fierce wind early on, there were some amazing performances at the T&F Regional in Cadillac. Those that qualified for the MHSAA State Finals today include Boston Streng-Beougher 200m and 400m, Cal Delisle 200m, Ryder Stipanovich 400m, Hunter Albrecht 300mH. —- 4x800 relay team of Murphy Wagner, Ryder Stipanovich, Jayden Rodriguez, Owen Fennelly, —- 4x100 Relay team of Elijah Krantz, Cal DeLisle,, Jamison Pelt, Torrance McMurren, —- 4x200 team of E. Krantz, Evan Kumar, C. Delisle, B. Strength-Beougher……both boys and girls 4x400s were about to run and the nasty weather moved in and caused the 2 races to be postponed until Monday at 5pm.

Swan Valley Varsity Soccer traveled to Caro for their final game of the regular season and delivered an outstanding team performance, securing a dominant 7-0 victory.

Drama seniors feature: Johnathan Kalenak
John enjoys working on the lights. He has worked as a light operator for the past two trimesters. He is proud of his setup of the cyc lights. John, a senior, says he “won’t be doing [drama] next year.”

Drama seniors feature: Simin Husenova
Simin is an exchange student from Tajikistan, and this is her second trimester in Drama. She is playing Alice in Alice in Wonderland and really enjoys being part of the show. Last trimester, she played Keira in This Murder Was Staged. Simin also did theater back in her home country and has always loved being on stage. Outside of Drama, she is part of the National Honor Society and BPA. After graduating, she plans to return to the U.S. for college to study International Relations. Simin would like to thank her drama teacher Ms. Buckley for believing in her and her host family for all their support. She took Drama because she loves acting and wanted to keep doing what she’s passionate about.

JV Baseball improved their record to 21-7-1 with two victories (7-6 and 9-1) over Mt Pleasant tonight. Game 1 saw Darabos start on the mound, going 4 innings with 5K's. Smith came in relief, getting the W, striking out 6. Ray caught.
In the nightcap, Ray threw a complete game, earning the W with 5K's. Leachman caught.
Offensive leaders were Reynolds with 3 hits, Ray and Young had 2 hits each. Adding one hit a piece were Stoney, Smith, Leachman, Rush, Kowalski, Bedford, Irvine, and Darabos.

Swan Valley Senior Cal DeLisle signed with Adrian College to further his education and play football and run track next school year! While participating in collegiate athletics, Cal will pursue a Bachelor's in Supply Chain Management and Logistics.

Drama seniors feature: Jasmine Guerra
Jasmine is a part of the costume and make-up team. She has also helped with set and props. This is Jasmine's third year in drama and her seventh production! She is proud of how much drama has made her grow as a person. Drama is something she plans on looking into during college. Next fall Jasmine plans on pursuing communications at Alma College.

Drama seniors feature: Elyana Teneyuque Elyana is very very excited about this show she has been helping put on. She has worked on multiple costumes, some being the mad hatter, queen of hearts, and gryphon to say the least. When she first started drama she was very worried about how everything would go (this being her first show/first time in drama), but so far everything has turned out great! In Elyana’s free time she enjoys being outdoors and hunting or being out in the boat. But mostly she enjoys being with her dogs and exploring new places whether in the woods or in town. She plans on becoming a DNR officer but knows there are many more options to explore first. Come on out and support Elyana in her last show!

Drama seniors feature: Dallas June
Dallas is a senior at Swan Valley and this will be his fifth production here. You may have seen him previously in John Lennon and Me, The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, or This Murder Was Staged. He has always been a fan of theater and movies and loves to act. Throughout high school, he has come
out of his shell and made so many great friends, and he owes it all to drama. Outside of drama, he plays percussion in Swan Valley’s symphony band and spends his free time drawing and listening to music. He plans to attend Delta College then SVSU to teach math and science. He would like to thank his moms, Elizabeth and Danya, for always being supportive and encouraging.

Drama seniors feature: Olivia Short Olivia short is the head of the costume crew this go around. Although she isn’t physically on the stage acting this trimester she is supporting her classmates behind the scenes by helping them get into character and making sure they have everything they need. Olivia is involved in TVC Writing along with SADD. She would like to shout out her underclassmen for making her senior year so memorable, and her family for always supporting her. She is sad to be leaving the drama team. Olivia plans on attending Delta College to major in General Business. Come on out and support Olivia in her last show!

TODAY is opening night for Alice in Wonderland! The Swan Valley Drama Students have been working hard to make the production. With help from some Swan Valley Middle schoolers, and even 5th graders, this show is bound to be lots of fun! The dates are May 15th @7, 17th @7, and 18th @2. It costs $7. Enjoy the show!

You are looking at the conference champs of the Thumb Area Conference! The Viking Volleyball team finished the conference season with an 11-2 record and a conference championship! What a great way to kickstart boys volleyball at Swan Valley! The boys will play in East Lansing Saturday for a tournament before playing for a regional title on Tuesday at Durand. A small group of track and field athletes took on the Heritage JV Invitational this evening, and despite being cut short by weather (only made it through 9 events), many finished with some great marks. Top 8 medal scoring finishers include: Colton Kittle - 5th place pole vault (PR), Ian Gast - 6th place pole vault (PR), and Boys 4x800m relay- 3rd place (Booth, Kittle, Boehler, Charboneau).
