Vikings soccer hit the road and took care of business at Garber, earning a strong win over the Dukes.
With Kaydence Walsh in the net, the team played with confidence from the start. She anchored the defense with 11 saves, helping set the tone for the match.
Emily Krantz got things rolling early, finding the back of the net. Kinsey Kaul followed it up with another goal, and Olivia Randall closed the door with two goals of her own to seal the victory.
Just as important was the defensive effort, as Jaidyn Rethman, Sylvie Johnson, Lexi Ittner, Stella Frantz, Olivia Randall, Olivia Horwath, Cadence Raymond, and Zoe Ecker locked things down and kept the Dukes in check all game long.

VIKING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (WEEK of April 13th and 20th)...
Swan Valley Athletics is honoring 3 Viking Athletes of the Week from the last two weeks. Congratulations to Fischer Stoney (JV Baseball), Quinn Darabos (JV Baseball), and Olivia Horwath (Varsity Girls Soccer) for earning this prestigious award!
Here is what their nominators had to say about them fulfilling one or more of the Viking Athletic Core Values:
"Our talented Sophomore has been putting up big numbers on the baseball field this season. He has been the centerpiece of an offense that is hitting .424 and has a .584 OBP. He led the team into Freeland, where JV came out with two victories. On Saturday, JV traveled to Seaholm, where Fischer hit his second home run of the season, this time it was a 3-run bomb. Fischer has an impressive .571 batting average, has two home runs on the season, leads the team in RBI's with 12, and leads the team with 11 stolen bases."
"Quinn displayed a lot of qualities we look for in a great teammate. While our big lefty hurler contributes much during the game, Quinn took himself out of a game last week so that his teammates could play. That was a big reminder for us that these athletes aren't just about individual accomplishments. They care about their teammates. Quinn is batting .300 with 8 RBI's. On the mound, he is one of JV's top starting pitchers, eating up 7.2 innings, and striking out 11."
"From the moment Olivia joined the Varsity soccer team her junior year, she made an immediate impact. It didn’t take long for her teammates to recognize her leadership, voting her as a team captain a role she has proudly embraced ever since. Olivia defines what it means to be a team-first player. When asked what position she preferred, her answer was simple: 'Wherever the team needs me, Coach.' That selfless mindset has made her an essential part of the program and a trusted leader on and off the field. She has played a key role in developing her teammates, helping build both their skills and the strong chemistry that drives the team’s success. Olivia Horwath sets the standard for leadership, demonstrating dedication, selflessness, and discipline in everything she does. She balances her commitment to her team with excellence in the classroom, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA. Congratulations, Olivia, on being named Student-Athlete of the Week!"

Happy Administrative Professionals Day to our incredible Viking secretaries across the entire district! 💜🤍
Thank you for answering all the phone calls, solving all the mysteries, finding all the missing forms, calming all the chaos, and somehow keeping the copy machines working (which may be your most impressive skill of all). You are the unofficial tech support, calendar coordinators, problem-solvers, student helpers, parent greeters, and the friendly faces that keep our Viking schools running every single day.
Honestly, if schools ran on coffee, kindness, and miracles… you’d still be doing most of the work. ☕📎
We appreciate you more than words can say—thank you for everything you do for our Viking family!
