Protecting Young Eyes Presentation at St. Lorenz Lutheran School in Frankenmuth Swan Valley School District has hosted Chris McKenna several times in the past three years. He has spoken to our parents, our students and teachers about internet safety. Chris will be in Frankenmuth on September 30th. We strongly recommend all parents attend this presentation. The information that Protecting Young Eyes provides is invaluable to parents who are attempting to monitor their children’s behavior online. If you are not able to attend the PYE session please take some time to check out the free resources available to parents on the Protecting Young Eyes ( https://protectyoungeyes.com/ ) website. We support Chris and his mission to protect young people online! How to Create a Tech-Ready Home with PYE September 30 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm EDT VENUE St. Lorenz Lutheran School, 140 Churchgrove Rd, Frankenmuth, MI 48734 Cost: FREE Must Pre-Register using the following link: https://protectyoungeyes.com/event/st-lorenz-lutheran-school-how-to-create-a-tech-ready-home-with-pye/#rsvp-now How to Create a Tech-Ready Home: Embracing the Tension between Careful, Countercultural, and Confident (Parents and Caring Adults Only) Although it’s not possible to create an internet-safe home, it is possible to create one that is internet SAFER. After well over a thousand presentations to parents, grandparents, and caregivers just like you, and countless conversations, we’ve observed what it takes to have kids learn to use technology well. And we call it the PYE Core Values. This presentation breaks down these 5 foundational ideas. • Do you know what’s better than any parental control? • Do you know why your router is the most important digital device in your home? • Do you understand the toxic trio? • Do you know why TikTok is so intoxicating to young brains? • Get ready for a ton of practical tips, solutions, and ideas you can implement.

Today Mark Lyons from REMC visited Mr. Felsing's 8th grade skills/careers class and talked about new innovative jobs that involve coding and drone work. Drones are now being used to inspect large buildings, deice parking lots, spray farmers fields, search and rescue, cattle herding, and much more! Students worked on coding drones and navigating them through a few courses.

🏃‍♀️🌟 What a fantastic week for the Swan Valley Middle School Cross Country team! The heat was on as the first TVC Jamboree took place at our very own Robert's Park, and the Vikings brought their A-game! The girls finished strong in second place, just three points shy of Alma. Shoutout to our top five girls: Addison Ball, Stella Frantz, Ryelle Thompson, Alexis Unger, and Evelyn Miller! 👏 On the boys' side, Connor Charboneau led the charge, followed closely by Sergio Medina, Josh Gonzales, Jacob Trythall, and Ethan Blome. Great job, team! 💪 Then, on Thursday night, the Vikings took on the hills at the Frankenmuth Invitational. The boys continued to shine with Connor Charboneau, Ethan Blome, Nick Bauer, Sergio Medina, and Landen Roenicke blazing the trail! 🚀 For the girls, it was an impressive performance from Addison Ball, Stella Frantz, Ryelle Thompson, Azalia Johnston, and Harper Wagner! Keep up the incredible work, Vikings! 🏅🌟 #GoVikings #CrossCountryChampions
