Piper Sova added 9 serving points over the course of three sets. Alayna Metiva, Aubrey Allore, and Emily Rocha contributed a kill each at the net, while the team's strong defensive play, led by Horny’s serving and Castillo’s digs, kept Ithaca on the defensive. The A Team matched the B team’s performance with a 3-0 sweep: 25-12, 25-13, and 25-10. Serving was again a key factor, with Addison Ball, Maggie Kennelly, and Ryelle Thompson stepping up to lead the charge. McKenna Miller had her best game of the season at the net, tallying 8 kills, while Harper Wagner added 5 kills. Ryelle Thompson led the offense with 10 assists, and together with Evelyn Miller and Wagner, they combined for 10 additional assists, setting up their teammates for success. Looking Ahead: The Vikings' undefeated streak will be put to the test next Monday as they face a tough challenge against the Freeland Falcons on the road. With both teams playing at such a high level, this upcoming matchup is sure to be an exciting one! Be sure to catch the action as these teams look to keep their perfect records intact. Go Vikings!

With only two days of practice and a very quick start, the 7th grade Vikings, approached the court with both excitement and a lot of nerves. The nerves quickly faded as they took control of the game against the Frankenmuth Eagles. Swan Valley 7th grade B team played first with an impressive performance, defeating Frankenmuth in straight sets: 25-8, 25-12, and 25-20. For many on this team, it was their first official volleyball game. This team has a lot of hidden potential that is sure to shine as the season progresses. The team’s serving was a key factor in their overwhelming win, with Cameryn Kornecky leading the charge with an impressive 13 service points. Her aggressive serves, including several aces, kept the Frankenmuth defense scrambling and helped her team build an early lead in each set. Grace Horny followed closely behind with 12 service points, contributing a variety of strong serves that kept the pressure on Frankenmuth throughout the match. Horny’s performance was complemented by her smart play at the net, where she also added several key tips that caught the opposing defense off guard. Alayna Metiva was equally important to the team’s success, contributing 6 service points and playing aggressively in the back row. The 7th Grade A team put on an impressive show, sweeping Frankenmuth in straight sets with scores of 25-19, 25-7, and 25-13. In the first set, the A team faced a bit of early resistance, with Frankenmuth managing to keep things close for a while. But the team quickly found their rhythm, with strong serves and consistent passing that helped them maintain control. From the serving line, McKenna Miller, Addison Ball, and Ryelle Thompson were contributing factors to the team’s strong offensive. McKenna’s 11 serving points set the tone, while Addison’s 7 and Ryelle’s 6 points, kept the pressure on Frankenmuth throughout the match. At the net, Harper Wagner was unstoppable with her 8 kills, but she wasn’t alone. Addison Ball contributed 5 kills. Ryelle Thompson set up her teammates beautifully with 5 assists. In both the A and B team games, each individual effort, whether it was a serve, a set, or a kill, contributed to the bigger picture of a hard-working team. The players didn’t just rely on one or two standout performances; instead, they all chipped in and supported one another, building the momentum as the matches went on. The team's depth for both A & B team is a huge advantage this season. With such a strong foundation, these teams are bound to be a lot of fun to watch—not just because of their skill, but because of the energy and excitement they bring to every match. Fans will definitely be in for a treat as these girls grows together. This season is shaping up to be something special! The 7th graders will face Alma & Ithaca away next Monday and Wednesday.
