Swan Valley Girls Varsity Soccer Takes 2nd at Panther Pit Classic! The Swan Valley Girls Varsity Soccer Team traveled to Birch Run on Saturday to compete in the Panther Pit Classic—and they didn’t disappoint! The Lady Vikings played with heart and intensity, earning a well-deserved 2nd place finish after a day full of great team play and standout performances. Tournament Highlights: * Madison Keyser was a wall in goal with 16 total saves * Madison Gracias lit up the scoreboard with 5 goals, a hat trick and 3 assists * Olivia “Liv” Randall added 2 goals * Kinsey Kaul contributed 1 goal * Emily Krantz had 1 goal and 1 assist * Jaidyn Rethman dished out 2 assists * Eve Schicht chipped in with 1 goal and 1 assist * Zoey Steiner added 1 assist The Lady Vikings put together a strong team performance and showcased their determination, skill, and chemistry throughout the tournament. Congratulations on a great showing!

The Girls Track and Field Team traveled to the Nite Trax Invitational on Friday for some fun under the lights in a late night meet. The girls team placed SECOND overall with contributions from athletes in all event groups!! The following athletes made top 3 medal-earning finishes: Sydney Kuhn: 200m - 1st place (PR, school record), 300m hurdles - 1st place; Grace Spear: 400m - 2nd place (PR); Reese Beery: 1600m - 3rd place, 3200m - 2nd place (PR); 4x100m relay - 1st place, SCHOOL RECORD (Spear, Hartley, Hare, Kuhn); 4x200m relay - 2nd place (Spear, Hayes, Newman, Powell); 4x400m relay - 1st place (Hare, Luplow, Powell, Kuhn) The following athletes achieved additional PRs: Mackenzie Powell (200m), Alexis Mendoza (400m), MaryGrace Luplow (800m), Emma Beckman (1600m), Olivia Randall (shot put) The team is back in action next week for TVC Championships on Wednesday at Alma.

JV Baseball traveled to Durand tonight and came away with two victories, 10-0 and 10-0. Leachman pitched a complete game in the opener, striking out 10. Ray caught. Smith (4.0 IP, 4K) and Young (1.0 IP, IK) combined for the night cap victory. Carter caught the night cap. RBI's for the team were Young (5), Ray (4), and Stoney, Smith, Irvine, Toner, and Leachman each had one. JV Baseball competes at the Bay City Western Invitational tomorrow.

The boys volleyball team continues their winning streak after defeating Grand Blanc and North Branch/Lapeer tonight. The Vikings are 7-0 to lead the Thumb Area Conference. The Vikings are back in action next Wednesday at North Branch where we will honor our seniors!

Swan Valley Varsity Baseball and Softball traveled west on M-46 tonight to take on the Hemlock Huskies. The boys took both games 2-0 and 9-1. The Lady Vikes followed suit winning 14-7 and 14-2. Viking Pride!

JV Baseball improved to 12-4-1 with two victories over Hemlock today, 16-1 and 17-0. Pitchers were Stoney (2.0IP, 6K), Darabos (1.0IP, 3K), Young (2.0IP, 3K), Toner (1.0IP, 2K). Leachman caught both games. Offensive leaders were Ray with 5 hits, Toner and Rush with 3 hits each, Bedford, Carter, Smith and Young with 2 hits each, and Reynolds and Darabos with one hit each. Viking Athletes of the Week (Week of April 21st)... Swan Valley Athletics is honoring 5 Viking Athletes of the Week for the week of April 21st! Congratulations to the following 5 track athletes for earning this prestigious award and rocking it at the Barnyard Invite in Romeo this past Friday night: Boston Streng-Beougher, Sydney Kuhn, Mackenzie Powell, Aubrey Hare, and Grace Spear. Boston set the 2007 school record in the 400M with a time of 49.13! The ladies broke the 4x400M Relay Team record by 2 seconds with a time of 4.03.16! Viking Pride!
