Free/Reduced Lunch applications are used for more than just nutrition services
Students and schools both benefit from approved free and reduced applications
Students that are approved for free and reduced priced meals may be eligible to receive help with:
Home Internet Reduced school athletic fees *Reduced testing fees *College application fees and *Finanical aid
Schools depend on free and reduced applications to determine the amount of funding they receive from a variety of State and Federal supplement programs like Title -I, At Risk Title II, E-Rate, etc. These programs have the potential to offer support and services for our students including but not limited to:
Technology (Chromebooks, internet, etc) Instructional Support (staff, supplies and materials) *Non-instructional Services (counseling, social work, health services etc) *Professional Learning for staff *Parent and Community engagement supplies and activities- such as field trips.
Even if your child/children do not intend on eating meals from our Nutrition Services Department, it is still critical that families return the free and reduced application. By doing so, you are not only helping your family, but all the families attending Swan Valley School District.
Please visit the school website and apply under the foodservice tab. Please note, the old Saginaw Township link is not a valid way to apply for the program. New applications must be processed through the following link . https://foodservice.swanvalleyschools.com/. If you need help accessing your login, please contact food service. Paper copies will be available at the building orientation.
We are working on setting up our online credit card reader to allow parents to pre-pay on student accounts. This should be live within this week. You can always bring cash or write a check to Swan Valley School District Foodservice.
