If you want something on your RESUME that is validated nationally, JOIN BPA (Business Professionals of America).  In addition, there are many Scholarship opportunities when you are a member in your Senior Year.

CENTRAL MICHIGAN WRITERS' COMPETITION

Central Michigan Writers' Competition (Formerly the TVC Writing Team) consists of students writing in small groups and competing against other local schools.

Students write persuasive essays, short stories, editorials, poetry, and more! There are two competitions and they take place in the fall.

ESPORTS

Are you a competitive gamer? 

There are both fall and spring seasons, with different games offered in each season.  Games like Rocket League, Fortnite, Valorant, Smash Bros and Apex are just a few of the games.  Players are put on a team based on their game choice.  Games can be played from home. 

Swan Valley HS is a part of the MIHSEF ESPORTS league. Teams compete against other Michigan schools across the state.

GAME CLUB

Do you enjoy playing games? 

Game Club is for students that want to meet with other students to play video/computer games as well as strategy/role-playing games. 

Students meet every other Tuesday in Rooms 601 and 602.  Game Club is open to any Swan Valley High School student. 

Game consoles and games are provided, or you can bring your own game.  No MA games are allowed, as it is a school event.  Games like Smash Brothers, Madden and Rocket League are among some of the video games played.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

11th/12th grade students only

Must meet eligibility requirements to join

Description:   An organization that recognizes and encourages academic achievement while also developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. The ideals of scholarship, service, leadership, and character are pursued.   Performs community service projects throughout the Saginaw area.

FRC Team 5538, The Vikingbots, is an award winning FIRST Robotics team and non-profit. 

Founded in 2015, the students in robotics routinely solve challenges in business, computer science, engineering, and math.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT

Are you interested in leadership and making a difference at school? 

Student Government representatives are in charge of various events throughout the school year.  Homecoming events such as theme, parade,  and assemblies are designed and organized by Student Government.  This group also holds an annual canned food drive, class competitions, spirit weeks, and many other events.
